FAST CAR ten-strong 1-DIN car radio test (1st SIX)

Fast Car have commissioned me a big group test of 1-DIN car radios. It is great fun and hard work. I am up to my neck working on stills and video as well as writing a short form group roundup and a longer, in-depth review of each unit. As I am going, I am making basic here-ya-go videos of each one. Here are the first few…

We started with the RetroSound modular system, configured to look gorgeous in a Karmann Ghia…

There are thousands of permutations and combinations of knobs, faceplates and nose pieces

We continued with the new Blaupunkt FRANKFURT

LOVELY RETRO THING!

Then, we have the Grundig GX-4308

IT’S GOT A TELLY SCREEN!

Fourth, The JVC KD-X561DBT ..which looks to be the same unit, basically…

It has a remote control ability that the Grundig does not

Fifth, we looked at the Caliber RCD-120DAB-BT-b

Seriously good value but needs a face case.

The sixth unit was the JVCAlexa-ready KD DB922BT

I struggled with Alexa as a greenhorn and not having used it anywhere before… but it does work, check out how clever the thing was!

Six down, four more to go! I have the SONY DSX-A212UI on the go. It is just £65!
