Head units for Fast Car’s ten-strong 1-DIN (last four)

The remaining head units from the ten-strong 1-DIN car radio test for Fast Car. The seventh unit was the SONY DSX-A212Ui.

Astonishing VFM and wins the Best Value For Money award

Eighth along, we had the mechless Pioneer MVH-S520DAB.

Quality bit of Spotify

Ninth, penultimate one of the ten head units was the Kenwood KDC BT-9060DAB, a beast with hugely potent pre-outs, running at 5V.

This is the one for running big power systems on. LOVELY 5V output

Last but not least, as they say, was the Alpine Halo9 unit, the iLX-F950D. A bit like putting a Norsk Skau Cat in with normal mogs. But it is all about that 1-DIn slot and while this really does need to use that steel back strap so often ignored, as it is so heavy, it does into a single-DIN.

An absolute technical delight. Easy to use and gorgeous to look at and listen to.

It was a slice of labour and can be seen here: https://www.fastcar.co.uk/products/best-single-din-car-radio/
