PHAT Slice of News from the CES in Las Vegas, Sony, RE Audio and more…

In the interests of keeping as much of this fresh Consumer Electronics Show stuff accessible through the front page of the Talk Audio magazine and not pushing it onto a more-than-six-stories archive page, we will publish pictures and copy in great long streams…as sent in by Mike Organ in Las Vegas.

Onwards and upwards, here’s the latest from Day One at the CES from Mike Organ:

Sony had a large stand with much of the line-up dedicated to a lucrative marketing link-up with US star Funkmaster Flex (who was present on the stand)
Sony seemed keen to reflect a young dynamic image with emphasis on the mechless ipod ready range.
New tech products inlcuded a compact Digital amp to upgrade OE stereos with inbuilt EQ and time alignment as seen recently from Helix.

They also showed a prototype BluRay player in double DIN with HD screen.

And now, Pioneer:
Pioneer used CES to show some new concept ideas. Primarily these involved close integration with the Apple iPhone and iPad products, including use of Pandora internet radio.
They also showed a prototype HUD head-up display for retro fitment to aftermarket vehicles and an iPod cradle that incorporates a GPS antenna, Gyro, Blueooth handsfree speaker and mic and works with iPhone and Android devices.
Pioneer also used the iPad as an interactive display on EVERY section allowing vistors to explore key points on the entire Pioneer line-up.
Following many brands at CES2011 Pioneer used some beautiful classic American muscle cars for demo.




Here’s some stuff from RE Audio:
RE Audio unleashed a range of new amplifiers named XTv3 and VLx series and also a restyled SE series subwoofer.



Kenwood had some new kit, too:
The Kenwood stand dominated one end of the North hall and included a very sexy demo car.
Range highlights included a revamped mechless headunit range and some exclusive ultra shallow basket subwoofers.

Phoenix Gold, once really big in the UK, is newly rocking in the USA once more:
With Phoenbix Gold relaunched under the new parents AAMP of America (Stinger) we now have some old classics back but brought upto date.
