Onyx Boxed

Connects2 who designed and now distribute the affordable but well engineered Onyx line of speakers and amplifiers have just released a brace of subwoofer enclosures loaded with Onyx drivers.
The Onyx 12E-MII-1 is a sealed enclosure housing one 12 inch woofer. However, it would seem to be a more powerful driver than the raw Onyx 12-S7 as it has a 500w continuous power rating versus the raw driver’s 360w rating. Also, the fifty ounce Strontium magnet described as living inside the box is the same size as the one described as living on the back of the raw fifteen – as the 12-S7 has but a forty ounce one. The single driver enclosure measures half the length of the dual driver one.
 
The enclosure-drivers themselves have inverted rubbery top roll suspensions and a more elaborate chassis finish than the raw drivers, too. The speakers are held in the box baffles with Allen headed bolts and the word Onyx is embroidered into the carpet on the top.
 
The Onyx 12E-MII-2 is a sealed enclosure with two of the meaner 12 inch drivers inside. It measures 380 x 348 x 380mm and is a four Ohm load by way of its two 2 Ohms coilers inside. It is rated to handle a whopping kilowatt continuously.
