New Panasonic In-Dash DVD

Panasonic introduces the next generation of in-car entertainment systems with the launch of two new in-dash DVD players, the CQ-VW100N and CQ-VX100N. Boasting the latest in acoustic imaging technology together with exceptional sound quality, these stylish models feature 7 inch LCD monitors, direct DVD input and Dolby Digital and dts decoding. Providing the ultimate entertainment experience for drivers and passengers to enjoy on the move, these new systems feature iPod*, iPod video, XM and/or Sirius satellite radio, (that’d be for the Americans – Ed) Bluetooth** compatibility, TV tuner, MP3 playback and DivX technology for home recorded video playback, they make the perfect addition to Panasonic’s highly successful in-car audio range.

As the world becomes more mobile, Panasonic looks to bring the quality and functionality of home theatre to the road. Designed to fit seamlessly into dashboards the CQ-VW100N fits a conventional 2-DIN slot, whereas the CQ-VX100N is 1-DIN sized and comes with removable face plate for safe storage.
Intuitive graphical interfaces give users complete control of the widescreen LCD monitor using quick, easy touch-screen operation for playing DVDs and video files. Both models offer NTSC/PAL/SECAM auto switching, which automatically detects available video formats, enabling high picture quality without the inconvenience to users of manual mode switching. A two channel down mix decoder for both Dolby Digital and dts delivers detailed impactful sound when screening and 4 x 50w amplifier gives the power needed to drive any musical preference to the max.

Panasonic’s CY-EM100N Expansion Module*** enables several digital devices to connect with these players at once. For example video games or camcorders, to ensure passengers are never bored whatever their preference may be.
Optional CY-BT200N enables a full hands-free phone system link up to these new models with phonebook transfer, allowing for the relocation of mobile phone functionality to the screens. Wireless audio streaming via Bluetooth A2DP technology is also made possible with the CY-BT200N module, enabling access to music content stored on portable devices such as a mobile phone.
The CQ-VW100N and CQ-VX100N will be available from March 2008 and will both be priced at £449.99.
