KnuKonceptz KOL-AK0 1/0 Amp Wiring Kit

A power cable system supplied not in a plastic blister like so many but a regular open-top box. This means that when you order your power kit, you specify the fuse size you need from any in the range from 60 Amperes up to 300 Amperes. KnuKonceptz make a point of supplying a larger length of ground cable so ‘You can upgrade your stock battery to chassis ground’ which is rare and is about attention to detail and good value. It is also ready-inserted into the black cable conduit that is supplied in so many kits these days. The fuseholder is a cylindrical type and looks water tight. There is no wealth of information in the box although the website is comprehensive. This one gets the nod environmentally as the packaging is shreddable compostible card, rather than plastic, albeit maybe recyclable!

Basic is the word. No fancy packing just the bits you need cut from the reel and boxed. There is no effort at all to supply at least one end machine-power crimped – I guess if you can crimp one end you can crimp two but it seems mean versus the others and I hadn’t even thought about that before I opened them, it just saves the effort and you didn�t buy it off the roll, it’s called a ‘kit’. I like the choice of fuse – again just which is flung in at the shop or upon order but the set is a bit primitive next to some here.
The cable is 15mm external diameter and 11.2mm conductor diameter. Maybe a tad pricey for the stuff as the cable isn�t posh-polymer squishy non gripping or anything, it’s just a lump of coppery rope, but serious for it. The fuseholder is old school but gorgeous and will make a good system feature. The earth wire was threaded into its conduit but no ring fixed – it was loose as before. There is no wealth of bits and bobs and as this is pure power, no speaker and no signal, it is something to compare with simple price per piece lists.
Solid if uninspiring nor particularly pretty for your wedge.
