Two new lines of subwoofers from Alpine

The new and improved Type S series includes both 10′ and 12′ variants in both dual 2 Ohm and dual 4 Ohm voice coils. What is new about this year’s model is the new shallower design, new cosmetics, improved cone strength and improved voice coil venting for cooler operation.
This third generation of Type S subwoofers has reduced in depth by 45mm on the 10′ and 38mm on the 12′ allowing for easier installation in small custom enclosures. Due in this month are a range of new slot vented boxes for the new 2007 Type S subwoofers; S10V single 10′, S12V single 12′, S10DV double 10′ and S12DV double 12′.
The range topping Type X subwoofers have just been updated for 2007. These have been re-engineered for even higher efficiency so you can get consistently tight bass. These subwoofers produce large bass power matched with high sound quality. The cone has been changed to a Kevlar-Rohacell composite to be even lighter. For best results, these subwoofers need the right enclosure. The 10′ dual 4 Ohm version will run in sealed enclosures from 0.5 -1.0 cu. ft., whilst the 12′ dual 4 Ohm version will run in 0.65 – 1.25 cu. ft.. There are new slot vented boxes on their way – the X101V and X121V built specifically for the new 2007 Type X subwoofers. These feature 1′ thick MDF and a strong slot vented design.
