The Fenman Burger – Biggest from any mobile in UK
Yes, here are the pictures that prove it! The mighty Fenman Burger, named for the Wild Man Of The Fens that also put their moniker on the odd Fenland public house. This mighty beef item is all from farms within 30 miles of the Peterborough Arena who devised it after I asked about the possibility. With a five inch diameter as the practical bun size limit, there were experiments done to see how big a patty size they could make. The butcher tried 250gram and 330 gram. The mighty only-three-to-the-kilo 330’s were used, stacked up and stuck together like the mighty plates of the Tectonic Planetary Crust, they were a crazed beefy subduction zone of protein.
With cheese and bacon as well, they were served up with chips and mustard and ketchup by the stalwarts of the East Of England Farmers catering crew.
I found four likely lads and asked if they would, in the spirit of my namesake Adam (Richman, a far more talented dude than I…) eat a ONE KILO burger. The bloke nearest to the camera is looking proper worried about it…
The punters lined up at the stage and shouted for their preferred competitors – as well as chanting “You Fat B*****d!” at me as compere, when I asked!
And yes, it was the big fellah who won – Scott demolished the lot – the chips were truly optional – in under twenty minutes and created history.
It’ll be on sale for £20, making it the biggest burger on sale anywhere in the UK – from a mobile catering trailer!
