Paul announces LPR Spatial Designs
LPR Spatial Designs are Paul Richardson and his son, Leon, now working with his dad. Leon is thus apprenticed to one of the most famous fettlers of audio equipment in the history of high end car audio. For Paul is a bit of a legend.
And like the absolute best home theatre creators of UK history, he too is moving from car-centric to the bigger scale of full domesticity.
You can now have a Richardson cinema in your home.
The sort of car installs Paul was famous for, were the ones where cost seemed to be no object. More than just the fancy equipment, loudspeakers would be housed in complete replacement door panels. These were always utterly solid, yet tactile in their sculpted curvaceousness and always beautifully coated with leather or Alcantara. But made with utter precision as loudspeaker baffles – and his cars won audio competition prizes all the time. Paul’s custom subwoofer enclosures were epic.

The close-up attention to detail is what breeds these skills. Bob Hobson of BBG (still miss him…) and Simon Elliott who was a 12V expert at Denon, both had that automotive audio background and like Paul, understood the plethora of skills you need to make beautiful custom cinema installations in peoples’ homes. Simon runs his own outfit, now doing some serious jobs and Leon & Paul are just ready to go with LPR and carve their own legend some more.
It’s not just the physical skills but also where they are aimed and it is sound. Bob had two eighteens on a kilowatt each in his Cosworth Sierra, and always loved bass. Paul will not judge you if you want a full scale T-Rex in your room. He’ll just design you a system that can reach low and frighten you. But apart from high power jokes, Paul has seriously fine ears. I was lucky enough to have him install my Volvo a good few years back. It was gorgeous and I still miss the lovely sound it had.
So yes, industry be warned, there is a new player on the market, hungry, skilled, knowledgeable and talented, (think Mufasa & Simba) and you can tell them the Fat Man Sent you when you contact LPR Spatial Designs, here:
