Panasonic Launch Strada Sat Nav

A massive press event in Athens saw Talk Audio’s Ed checking out the new Strada Sat Nav system. Two hundred delegates from all over Europe learned that the CN-GP50N five inch touch screen satellite navigation product is to be available in Europe for the first time, having been on sale in Japan for a while. Named for the Italian word for street, the Strada is a pan-European screen-mounted device that is much slimmer than many competing products.

You can program by voice command and it has a pretty 3D image of the local important buildings/landmarks, so the Eiffel Tower, Pisa’s leaning one and Big Ben and the like show up in relief which is nice. The unit has Bluetooth and you can make calls based on the POI list. Call up that attraction and see if they have tickets in advance. The mounting hardware is truly excellent. Powerful, capable and compact. The addition of TMC is possible by adding an extra unit.
