ICE-T16 A Booming (And Tweaking) Sunshiney Success!

Talk Audio’s very own party upon the Oxfordshire Greensward was just held this last Saturday July 19th at Wallingford.
There were some absolutely awesome cars present from those loud and deep enough to do the whole insane sub-sonic elephant-call long-range bass thing. (As a couple of complaints did gently waft our way.) Or with one or two of them perhaps, it was more like the bull Blue Whale song thing where they use 180dB of bass underwater to call up their sweetheart across an entire ocean basin – bass REALLY carries.
But there were also some of the best sounding cars in the country as well, with that mad Beetle now using £1,000 per metre RCAs in what is the closest thing to a rolling true hi end HiFi system I have now ever heard. Mark Turner’s is as good sonically but your head is immersed in the soundstage – which is why I made comments about French kissing close-miked Norwegian vocalists in his write up. The Beetle’s very cabin and screen shape makes it feel like you are sitting back from a soundstage.

Despite threats, the weather held good and we all got sunburned. Food was well provided by Clive & Joyce’s CJ catering wagon and even the loos were posher versions than I’d used before! Such a good time was had by all that we had to do the old rehearsal studio thing when you had to stop bands after four hours while they are still rocking to get the next session in, like a genial landlord and clear the field in the evening! A full on write-up with pictures by professional photographer Steve Brown (Known as Snapper Spike on the forum) of Blue Feather photography will follow soon.
A huge thank you to Guru  and the Car Audio Direct/Oxford Car Audio team for organising it – I just swanned up like a regular visitor! And the biggest thanks of all to the Talk Audio Forum and people who came without whom none of all this could happen. You lot are Officially Hardcore!
Respect and lurve and yes, it was terribly nice&;
