Team Highdown Car Audio’s EMMA Pre-Season Training Night
This week Team Highdown had their first Competitor Information Evening, aimed at providing new and seasoned EMMA competitors with a better understanding of car audio & the EMMA judging format. Axis Distribution’s Chris Woods, opened the evening with a PowerPoint presentation covering the basics of EMMA and how that even with over 19,000 competitors from over 40 countries, competing has never been such fun. Everyone can have a chance at winning, as the way that EMMA has set out its classes ensures fair competition.

After a half-time buffet, Chris moved on to the technical stuff, and amazed everyone with his in-depth knowledge, which he managed to convey to his audience in such a way that kept their attention and made experience enjoyable, without realising that they were actually attending a master-class in car audio science.
To end off the evening Chris showed off an array of products and cables, explaining the differences between a basic, mid range and a high-end product. Of course Chris being Chris had a couple of jaw-dropping items to show off as his Finale, namely the New Hertz SPL Monster subwoofer and 15,000 watt amplifier.
Jeremy Owen’s Team Highdown has been attending car audio competitions since the company was founded three years ago, and Team Highdown has grown from its initial three competitors to a Team of fifteen members, including well respected and veteran competitor Pat Cash (not to be confused with the Australian tennis player) and Jeremy’s son James who won the 2008 EMMA Experienced 3 Channel league with his exceptionally well presented VW Polo.
