The incredibly expensive Focal high end Beryllium series of component speakers for cars – named after the posh metal of the tweeter’s domes – usually comes with a fabulously expensive passive crossover box with knobs. Either two way or three-way, the passive ‘Crossblock’ costs either £1,300 or a mere £1,100! The tweeters are £450 each, the six and five inch mids are all £275 each and what has to be the world’s most expensive three inch raw driver costs £175 each!
There is now a cheaper option for passive crossovery that isn’t able to go bespoke for your car at the turn of a potentiometer, but is to be priced much ‘more affordably’ It’s called the Cross Uniq and looks like a ‘normal’ passive crossover. I am certain it’ll still be a high tag price (TBA) and’ll be filled with costly posh hand-selected and tested components assembled by a dark arts magician. In French.
