Fi & Ascendant at Spring Break
The single most famous sound off contest in all the world, held at the Spring Break doings in Florida had some serious presence from new-boys-with-wise-heads brands Fi and Ascendant. Already advertising with importers Blade Ice on Talk Audio while their shipment is upon the ocean, the new kit from these brands looks like Blade have got a hot set of beasties on their hands. Images here are from the Spring Break Nationals, with a few words from Mr. Am, the man behind Blade Ice in the UK.
Fi Car Audio and Ascendant Audio had one hell of a weekend!
Lil’ Jon’s rebuilt Astro van with the new Ascendant Chaos’s was on demonstration all weekend. Being asked numerous times not to play ‘too loud’ due to the structural integrity of the building, he still wowed the crowds.
Also on display were the new Savage streetbass woofer, Ascendant Audio Mayhem Series; 2,000wms, 28mm Xmax, designed for brutal low end output. No one-note wonder, this woofer will play musically too. And drop low, low, low!
Frankie’s rebuilt Lexus was also dominating the IASCA ‘Bassboxing’ events. (This is an IASCA SPL event that involves playing both with the doors shut as normal but also with the doors open – so we can all hear it! How cool is that? I must ask if UK IASCA are going to be running this. Ed) Frankie’s set up peaks well below 40Hz and goes to the lower depths of subsonics at mind numbing decibels. He runs 12 Fi BTL12s.
Extreme Audio’s Astro took first place in EXT3-4 with 4 Fi BTL18s at a de-boning 176dB. Lots of first and second places in most classes, we’re still compiling the results.
Ed Again: This all sounds like ‘Here there be monsters!’ I can’t wait to see this stuff over here and better yet to cop a load of a car or maybe even an Astro with some of it fitted!
