Caliber Keen to Re-Calibrate the UK

Those of you who have been into all this for some time – read pre-internet era – will recall the lower cost brand that BBG, (notorious for getting all the best ones) went for. Caliber from Holland. BBG made them pretty big in the UK which is hardly surprising as I was repping at the time and recall this bloody product whupping my ass.

I had clearly identified a dealer in a seaside townon the edge of being an amplifier and subwoofer outlet and was poised to fill him up with MY boom, only to find he was a Caliber stockist by the time I got there. My dreamed of order was toast! Known back then for value with real bloody-nose break-your-face levels of power if you wanted it as well as clarity, they were early sellers of sodding great huge class D monoblocks amongst other things.
Well, they are back, Talk Audio has aroused the interest of the lovely Dutch dudes and they are looking at our cold rock off their coast as a possible zone to (oh I do apologise in advance and accept the poetic license points) recalibrate.

Netherland’s brand Caliber – manufacturer of car audio products and accessories is back on the UK market.
Caliber’s very wide range of car accessories includes all kinds of wires, connections and facias to build even the most professional competition-grade car stereo systems for an affordable price.
The brand is well known all over Europe and is being sold in some of the biggest chains in Europe.
Caliber Europe BV was founded in the early 90s. The company started with one line of amplifiers and one line of woofers engineered by ourselves in The Netherlands and produced in the Far East. This is still the basis of their success. They technically develop the products by themselves in the Netherlands, and production takes place in certified factories, under permanent quality control by their own staff. The company rapidly became successful. In their 2nd year the range quickly expanded with speakers and the first accessories. In the beginning products were only sold in the basic home markets: The Netherlands / Belgium / Luxemburg.

During 1992 the first export orders were shipped, and the program of items was extended over the years. Nowadays, Caliber offers around 1,600 mainly car audio products: Head units with MP3, Sat Nav, DVD players; screens, five lines of Amplifiers, seven lines of speakers, four lines of components, seven lines of woofers, Tubes, fully equipped subwoofer boxes, custom-fit subwoofer boxes, and a complete line of accessories, including cables, signal cables, connectors, power kits, CD changer cables, battery clamps, fuses, capacitors, parking systems, radio facias adapters, ISO connectors, fuseholders, distribution blocks, ports, grills, damping materials, etc.
In May 2004 Caliber introduced its first two models of head units. Now head units offer consists of: ten models including mp3, DVD players, SAT NAV system built in, iPod ready, Bluetooth, USB, SD card reader etc. The main feature of them is a very high power 4x75W RMS on board amp and a unique 5V line out signal level.
Nowadays Caliber distributes the products in twenty-seven European countries and are proudly getting back on the UK market. A modern managing and just-in-time delivery is helping them to increase their success on European markets. Demo cars built with Caliber products compete with the best demo cars all over Europe and have great results in SPL (Sound Pressure Level) classes.
