AudioControl DQL8
AudioControl, the autosound industry’s leading designer and manufacturer of performance signal processors, announces the release of the DQL-8, a digitally controlled processor for interfacing aftermarket amplifiers with factory installed audio systems. The DQL-8 is feature laden line output converter that offers eight input channels, internal channel summing, plus an auxiliary input for the easy addition of a secondary source such as an iPod. Additionally the DQL-8 is equipped with a specially designed DSP that allows for both parametric and graphic equalization controls for each output channel combined with a 24 dB/octave electronic crossover.
The DQL-8 can accept up to eight speaker level signals of up to 400 watts each, either full range or crossed over, from factory installed source units or amplifiers. Signals that are crossed over by the factory system can be summed internally in the DQL-8 to provide a full-range pre-amp signal. To accommodate enthusiasts with iPods or other secondary source units, the DQL-8 has an Auxiliary Input that can be activated by simply tapping the knob on the included dash mounted volume control. If a second source is not being used, the volume control can operate as a subwoofer volume control.
To help tame acoustics and improve the performance of factory installed systems, the DQL-8 is equipped with very powerful parametric and graphic equalization filters. Each output channel has two completely programmable parametric controls, with selections for center frequency, bandwidth, and amplitude. The main channels are equipped with thirty bands of precise, 1/3 octave spaced constant-Q equalization controls, for a total of 140 equalization controls. Eight, user selectable, non-volatile memories allow the user to recall equalization and crossover settings that can accommodate for less than ideal speaker placement, source unit limitations and user preferences.
The DQL-8 can also be operated remotely utilizing AudioControl’s optional Digital Dash Control (DDC) which can be installed in the front of the vehicle.
In addition to being a superior eight-channel line output converter, the DQL- 8 offers a number of other key features that will cure OEM integration headaches:
# AudioControl’s GTO signal-sensing turn-on circuit
# Channel independent level adjustments for signal matching
# High current 12-volt turn-on output lead for additional components
# AutoMode turns 4-channel input into a 6-channel output
The DQL-8 will begin shipping in late 2006 UK price TBA
The Master Volume Sub/Level Control is standard and the DDC (Digital dash Control) is optional.
