Swagtastic
ICE T-16 saw Talk Audio finally giving away a serious swag-fest of Fusion kit. There was an EN-AT110 ten inch active bass tube with remote bass controls and full wiring loom kit in one big box. Another big old box of a quarter of a grand’s worth of PowerPlant four corner kit comprising high power six by nines, components, four channel amplifier and a full wiring kit as the second swag item and finally a set of the Envy components in a third box. All sent in by Fusion and most tested in the magazine’s reviews. (Although the bigger of the four corner packs was pure new-in-the-box Bunce!)
After an abortive attempt to give them away to a random lucky poster who first was understandably suspicious and then had the temerity to go on holiday and leave the internet behind (best thing to do mate but sorry you lucked out!) so ended up missing out on grabbing the swag, it was decided to give them away.
But how?
It came to me in a dream, we would have a ‘Throw the Koac’ competition. Whomsoever could hurl the piece of arrant utter tripe the farthest woulds’t win Fair Swag. Then it was obvious that girly useless flings would need their own ‘class’ as well. So that was two of them. Finally, whoever had the best idea about an actual use for the thing for Spike to photograph (as so help me it obviously isn’t an item intended for audio pleasure so much as to rip people off on the Internet with e-Bay aiding and abetting them) would win the components.
We had a paper weight to hold leaflets down on a posh install on a windy day.
We had a wheel choc.
Did a video of it being used as a tent peg mallet (with some insane aggression I might add from another who hates it) but the winnnah had to be the dude who used the Koac as a tray to burn charcoal in and use as a barbecue.
(This is VERY DANGEROUS AND POSSIBLY TOXIC WITH REAL ELECTRONICS.)
A Koac is toxic to hear though. It pollutes your ears and makes you feel dirty afterwards. It truly deserves this treatment, as did the winners deserve their prizes.
Paul Richardson from Car Audio Innovations’ wife was the strongest of arm and flung her way to girly victory. However, as they are trade they gave the item away and had it fitted to a customer’s girlfriend’s car instead!
A huge thank you to Fusion for being our very best in a whole year at simply saying we can thieve their kit and give it away. There was another boxful we gave away earlier in the year too so all in all, it’s the thick end of a fat thousand pounds worth of swag that Fusion have donated.
Even if you are a dedicated fan of another brand, you’d be thrilled to swag stuff worth this much and use it as desirable trading itemry. But you know what? Every person who got hold of some free Fusion has fitted it to a car belonging to someone who matters to them.
It’s been lovely spreading the love and here’s to even more! (Absurdly big hint to all the lovely Talk Audio advertisers&;.)
