Slim but not Shady

A plethora of manufacturers showed their prototypes of shallow mount subwoofers at CES this year – It’s a product that dealers and installers have been after for some time now. Well the first one to hit our shore is the brand new Hex Shallow Subwoofer from Diamond Audio. A front mounted Neodymium magnet gives a mounting depth of just 2.7 inches for the 10 inch, and only 3.1 inches for the 12 inch woofer. A woven Carbon fibre cone and genuine Butyl rubber surround shows that Diamond did not cut corners on the materials and also ensures that they are things of beauty.

Retail prices are estimated at £250-£300 for the 12 incher, and AVHQ say they should have them by the time you read this.
