Talk Audio Survive Las Vegas

Spoilt rotten and made to feel like a celebrity, Talk Audio’s Adam Rayner is fresh back from tagging along with the Pioneer Las Vegas SEMA trip. A double-pronged job, it was both an incentive-plus-nurture-of-the-most-promising type of thing for a slew of dealers. The party was fifty strong yet caused no more than normal levels of distress while being fed royally at various lovely hostelries (like the VooDoo lounge on Halloween, 51 floors above The Strip – awesome view, we have a video) and of course gaining entry to the vast Speciality Equipment Manufacturers’ Association show. It takes up the whole of the Las Vegas Convention Centre and is of course only about cars and things that go with them, so no ‘pooters, cameras, home hifi or the like. It also attracts a lot less mobile electronics traders who tend to visit Vegas in January for the international edge the CES has, while SEMA is a down-home Yankee thing as US flavoured as Mom’s apple pie. There were plenty of fabulous cars to drool over though and it was great fun. Best of all, we got an interview with mobile electronics’ MTV hero Mad Mike, who for me is the all-time most famous car electronics person of all time in the world. I love Pimp My Ride. Mike’s a diamond geezer and was happy to answer all my questions, even the stupid and personal ones. Read it soon here on talk Audio.
