i-mob plc and Thatcham have confirmed that two i-mob products are the first to formally attain the prestigious new ‘Thatcham Quality Accreditation’ mark.
Launched earlier this year the new Thatcham Quality Accreditation Programme, replaces the long standing Thatcham Q list in January 2007 and is designed to offer a more robust programme of product endorsement. The new scheme will provide insurers and consumers alike with a greater degree of confidence in product performance than has previously been available.
The new programme concentrates on all aspects of quality from the design and manufacture through to the service provisions offered in conjunction with the products. The products themselves are rigorously tested against a predetermined criteria established by Thatcham’s Vehicle Security and Quality Disciplines.

Dean Lander, Thatcham’s Accreditation Manager said, ‘We are delighted to be able to confirm the accreditation of i-mob’s TT1 and TT2 products. Both products are telematics systems designed for stolen vehicle location. Customers and insurers may be reassured that products attaining Thatcham Quality Accreditation have completed a most rigorous series of examinations regarding not only the product performance and design control but also the reliability of the manufacturing to repeatedly produce the required standard of quality’.

To capitalise on this we have introduced two TQA accredited systems, named TT1 and TT2. Both have much in common with the existing i-mob range and are to be offered through the same sales channels.
TT1 is designed and configured as a lower cost solution retaining important features such as key theft protection. TT2 offers a complete security and safety package at a mid range price which we believe is unique in the UK market offering hijack and accident management in a Thatcham Approved package’.
